Treehouse is the spacious home of 9 earth-loving humans actively working on solutions to climate change in the Lower Haight 💚

Deep, meaningful connections are at the core of our community, and we regularly host events, share meals, and touch grass.

Treehouse is the first coliving house in the Neighborhood.

In past lives, Jamie was a full-time Cantonese language student in Hong Kong, and engineer #11 at Figma. He gets extremely hyped up about urban dance (think Kinjaz), unusual animation styles (think Arcane), and is an embarrassingly big fan of John Green (basically everything, but especially Anthropocene Reviewed).

🌻 Sierra thinks microgrids are dope and wants to build them everywhere.

She’s currently building illu, the know-how and coordination platform for climate frontline work (installation, servicing, operations). She’s also founded and runs Mee Panyar, a solar microgrid company in Myanmar. She loves painting murals, backpacking, watching lots of ballet, and foraging edible plants.

🌵 Helena thinks a root cause of climate change is how money moves in the world (capitalism?)

Helena spends her time biking, hosting events, or working on a climate startup, Streamline (with Doug below). Before this she ran a YC-backed community startup. She spent several years as a software engineer after flirting with the idea of being a vet (ask her about working with elephants and cheetahs).

🤠 Doug thinks you should work on climate and bring all your friends too.

Doug believes everyone is an artist and born to create. When he’s not building Streamline with Helena, he’s probably cooking fusion food, hosting paint nights or private concerts in the shower. Sucker for all things outdoors, especially if it involves chasing a ball. Jack of most trades. Big hugger. Spicier in person.

🦈 Andy thinks that if only we had a deeper relationship with nature, we would see its inherent value and naturally work to protect it.

Andy leads a regenerative tourism company empowering Indigenous communities in the Philippines - one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate change.

Through their Ridge-to-Reef initiative, they’re reforesting 30,000 hectares of indigenous land, 17,000 hectares of mangroves, and 5,000 hectares of coral reefs.

She’s a surfer, scuba diver, yoga teacher, documentary filmmaker, artist / ocean conservation photographer, triathlete, and competitive sailor 🏄‍♀️ 🦈

Currently also working to elect the first technologist to the US Senate.

🐟 Olivia thinks we can work on climate solutions faster and curiosity is the best language.

Olivia is working to leverage tech and finance tools and lingo so financiers and project developers fund and build more renewables faster around the globe. When she’s not in the office (because the Vid is over and human interaction is good), she’ll be surfing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, dancing to live music, or learning Portuguese. In past lives, she worked as a guide on class IIII-IV rivers, lived with female entrepreneurs in Thailand, and supported clean energy entrepreneurs across Southeast Asia, Uganda, and the U.S.. Oh and “Fútbol is life”.

💎 Eugene thinks that everything has a simple true essence, and the fun of life is searching for it.

Eugene is redeeming the decadent excesses of his big tech past by running Work On Climate, a non-profit focused on getting enough people to work on climate. He spends his free time searching for music and art that is unlike anything he's ever heard or seen, upgrading his mastery of human stuff, climbing, cuddling his cats This One and That One, and making jokes too deadpan for anyone to notice.

💡 Lisa thinks joy can be found anywhere.

Lisa loves spending time in nature, listening to music, and following her curiosity. When she isn’t watching the sunset on Mt Tam, biking through GGP, or listening to audiobooks (see: Braiding Sweetgrass), she may be in gremlin mode in Treehouse kitchen. 🌱

🧐 Jason thinks occasionally.

Jason spends his time using machine learning to make wind turbines more awesome at Windscape AI. He also helps run ML Collective, a decentralized ML research home open to anyone getting into the field.

During his PhD, he published papers on how to peer inside neural networks, train robots to walk, and fool neural nets. XKCD compared one of his bots to a Burning Man attendee. When not working, he likes hosting brunches, camping trips to Angel Island, kayak paddles to a magical disappearing island, and philosophy slumber parties.
